Ravin graduated from the University of Aberystwyth, completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the University of West of England and qualified as a Barrister from the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in London. Since his admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, Ravin has practiced at Lovelace & Hastings, Jagjit Singh & Co and thereafter founded Messrs Ravin & Co (later renamed Messrs Vin Partnership).

Ravin also obtained his Certificate of Proficiency in General Insurance (CPGI) in 1996 as well as a Masters of Science (MSc) in Economic Crime Management (with Distinction) in 2021.

Ravin is the founding partner of Vin Partnership and specialises in Insurance/Personal Injury, Penal Code offences, Civil Litigation and Matrimonial Matters.

Ravin heads the Personal Injury Department and acts primarily for Insurance Companies in advising and litigating their disputes. Ravin’s department specialises in handling matters involving fraudulent/exaggerated insurance claims and is commonly hired as counsel for such matters.

Ravin has served in various offices of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee and Bar Council. Ravin’s past and current positions include:

â—†      Registrar of SEA-LAW Steering Committee, Thailand (2016/2017).

â—†      Co-Chair of the Bar Council Personal Injury Claims Committee.

â—†  Co- Chairperson of the National Legal Aid Committee,
          Bar Council Malaysia

â—†      Co-chairperson Bar Council Steering Committee on the National
          Legal Aid Foundation /Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan.
